Community Norms

To foster an environment of fun and creativity, we ask that you agree to our community norms. If you have any questions or have something you would like to add, please send us an email.
Respect
Honor the time and energy of others, respond to emails, and if you commit to a reading please follow through.
Provide criticism kindly and respectfully.
Don’t assume identity
A person’s identity doesn't need to be vocalized for it to be respected. Be respectful and flexible in ambiguous situations.
Many of us chose to share our pronouns. Respect people's pronouns. Please do as you feel comfortable regarding your own.
Speak like there is a survivor in the room
We do not need to know in order to respect—with language, attitude, and behavior—the lived experiences of others.
Operate within the needs of the writer
The writer expresses their needs, our discussion operates within them.
Effort over polish
Table Manners prioritizes the joy of sharing a creative space over the perfecting of a role. In the week leading up to the reading, put in as much effort as you have time for and do not concern yourself with perfection.
